I got this because I hosted a Swing Semester student to work on the
campaign. If you know of anyone who'd like to be in the job candidates
binder given to new members of Congress, please forward it to them.

Subject: job sites - dont lose this!

Ok we saved the world now what? Below are a combination of random places to
look for jobs. There are many places to look for political jobs. The most
important thing is to know what kind of job you want that makes it easier.
But if you are like me and are kind of at a loss for what you want to do
with your life look at these sites and join the groups. And read the whole
email because at the end I give you the places to send your resume for
congressional jobs and administration jobs. If you would like to chat about
what is right for you feel free to email, im, text, or call me anytime.
Good luck in figuring out what is NEXT for you!

Join the Jobs that are LEFT google group - they sent out emails every day of
job postings for jobs that are left leaning. It is a great listserve.

NOI Jobs
http://groups.google.com/group/noi-jobs?hl=en
This is the google group for noi jobs. it is another job group to join to
get postings.

tommanatosjobslist at yahoogroups.com - this is a yahoo group that tom manatos
runs it is for jobs on the hill.

I have attached a form that you should fill out if you want new members of
congress to get your resume. and below is another way to apply for hill
jobs.

Job List friends,

With many new Members of Congress coming to Washington soon they will be
looking to fill their staff over the next few months. But everyone must
understand the filling of new Member offices is a LONG process. Typically
new Members will first hire a Chief of Staff and possibly a scheduler
followed by a few junior positions like staff assistant and LC (legislative
correspondent) during the months of November, December and January. Then
after the new year (in January, February and March) they will start to fill
other positions in the office like LC, LA and LD.

If you are interested in possibly having your resume put into a binder given
to all new Democratic Members, please send your resumes to the address
below. But your resume WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED UNLESS YOU FOLLOW THE
DIRECTIONS BELOW:

1. You must put the position(s) you would like to apply for in the subject
of the e-mail and in the body of the e-mail.
2. You must only put 1-2 positions that you are applying for in the subject
of the e-mail (example: COS/LD, or staff assitant/LC, or LC/LA). It will
not be accepted if you put many or all positions like Staff assitant/LC/
LA/LD.

Also, you must understand that not all resumes sent to the address below are
guaranteed to be in the binder given to new Members.

So if you would like to have your resume to be considered to be in the book
of resumes given to the offices of new Members of Congress, e-mail your
resume with the jobs you would like to apply for in the Subject of the
e-mail to the address below. Good luck!

If you want to try to get a job in the white house. here is a site to go to
for the transition.

As you are thinking about applying for various positions and want an
overview of what political appointees do or need that refresher....the
transition site....www.change.gov <http://www.change.gov/> has an excellent
"other resources"
page....must reading! I would advise a scroll down to the very bottom
of the page...to the White House transition project site....wish I had
this amount of information back in the day when I was an appointee.

http://www.transitionjobs.us <http://www.transitionjobs.us/>
This is an unofficial location to search - they will place the Plum
Book on this website too...but it has interesting article links.....and
lots of good reading resources....so wanted to pass on for folks
interesting in applying.....

Ok now go keep saving the world! Oh and if you are interested in another
campaign - Virginia and New Jersey have governor races in 2009!
