Hi Lois,

Thanks for sharing David's journey with us. He was one of the first
guys I met in Fifth City and I believe he was on Development at the
time. He consoled me during the winter my car was stolen. He helped
direct me on how to use public transportation until it became so
questionable as to the reliability and safety of a white man traveling
alone late in the evening on buses and the El. Then, when my car was
found by the police and returned to me in a totally unhappy state, he
helped me find another car. We went to the local Austin America dealer
who knew David and was glad to make a deal for a new car. Then David,
in all his wisdom, agreed to take my old car as a donation to the
Institute. It was not the best deal he ever made because that car was a
real mess. But David was a real life saver for me.

Thanks David for being with us.

Jim Baumbach.
