Thanks, Ellie. Indeed it has been a creative and adventurous journey we've all been on. Hope to run into you again before it's over (given there are many many years to go!).

Judi,
Thanks for your journey witness.  We have great memories of our journeys intersecting/merging as part of the Rochester galaxy--indeed a creative and adventurous time.

Grace and peace in your fourth circle journey ~
Carleton and Ellie

Judi--

Your witness reminds me of an old RS-I illustration (arn't they all "old" now but still relevant.) I can hear Gene Marshall, John Cock (others and myself) tell of, "The old tree out my office window--beaten by the wind, peed on by the dogs, broken branches swinging in the wind, a side with a concret patch. . . Yet the tree is sustained, and so am I!

    Thanks for sharing.

    Inner Peace,

    Bill

>From the window in front of my desk, I can see one eucalyptus tree. It has taken many years to decide to stay where it is and become a tree. And now, one branch grows straight up while the others bush out gracefully. Wistful ly healing is a word that holds its energy for me.
Under the grass is a series of terracotta pipes, not so deep in20the ground – remnants of what was once a lumber yard, then an inn. I visualize the roots of this eucalyptus finding their way around the pipes before growing downward toward the aquifer. All of the trees on my little plot of land had the same contradiction to resolve before they could take root. Some didn’t make it, some did.
Through this window the eucalyptus reminds me of my own life’s experiences as I now reflect on the 65 year journey I just took . Image a circular spiraling maze. Circle One, where it all began, is spirals in and through the next two circles and these next two circles are interwoven as well. Circle Four now begins its turning (some say 60, but let me just say, I was a late bloomer and it’s about to begin!!). Circle Two was a great adventure in releasing creativity for creating a demonstration to the world of sustainable community – a very community-rich experience. Circle Three was releasing creativity for creating a sustainable life of service for people who live on this planet of ours – a very solitary-rich experience.
I enter this final circle in gratitude, learning to proceed with a trusting hear - a quality quite other than my ordinary selft, learning to be with the mystical presence of an unconditionally loving and forgiving Soul – a reality quite other than my ordinary Self. I lam learning to let go of all that has occurred on this journey – the poor choices, unexpected results, losses and, as well, the joy of
 successes. Done.
I am deeply grateful to have a future, be it 5 more days or twenty years. I venture dancing to the tunes of old songs that have been sung over and over, just as this eucalyptus out my window dances in the wind - and has endured through the rage of hurricanes , honoring an undeniable rootedness in Being - which is also quite other than my ordinary Self.
Do I have my reasons for living the life I did? Yes, yes I do have my reasons for living the life I did.
And now, after this brief pause for closure, I journey on into the Wisdom of the Heart this time, now, like a playful child, free to explore, create new patterns. House and car are paid off, pension on its way, and yes my own medicare card, too. Yet, I am new. All is new. I lift up my arms to greet the morning sun.
Judi White, living in Florida with Dick Umble. I lived the Spirit Movement 1968 to present, in a religious house 1973 - 1991. Worked as the Order/ICA in Rochester, Chicago, Omaha, Australia, 5th City, Kenya, and NYC. Got a B.A in Psych., M.S. special Ed., an M.Ed in Counseling, all just to work as Special Ed. Teacher, Guidance Counselor and Special Ed.Consultant. In Phase One, I realized my first dream – to have a family and the best children in the world. In and through Phase Two and Three was an unfolding journey with Psychosynthesis and Sophia Circle, for which I now have the time.
And the eucalyptus tree? One never knows.
Ordinary life? Yes and No.
