A few more seeds: Charles is going to talk about the artform method (ORID) at the Adult Eduction Committee at our church tomorrow; they are considering working with artforms this fall. As a part of his preparation he googled "Institute of Cultural Affairs - art form method," and approximately 254,000 references are available as a result. Talk about "scattered seeds."!

Hi Nancy - Do I have news for you!!!
Chikhale was one of the first four villages started with graduates from the first Training School taught in Maliwada. Monu Battacharia and I took the team to Chikhale. The dream of a residential school for tribal children was a dream that came along after I had moved on. Our main emphasis was to somehow rid the main village well of the naru worm .
I visited Chikhale in January 2007 with Paula Philbrook and Nelson and Elaine Stover -- and the local guardian - a man who owned a large construction company in the nearby town. HIS dream has resulted in a residential school that goes through 10th grade. We had the privilege to attend the school graduation which included the students who had been there for the whole 10 years!!!!
Yes, the seeds we have scattered have been watered by others and are blooming all over the world. How blessed we were and are to have worked with a group so effective and caring.
Your songaia community is another seed that you have been able to prune and water. If I ever get up your way I will for sure stop and visit.
You are loved,
Jean in Denver

Great story, Jean! Isn't life amazing when what we see miracles happen from the seeds we sow? A dream of ours along with the incredible energy and dreams of Laxmi Bhattacharia and others in India, to see the "famous" Training Center in Chikhale become a boarding school for tribal children. It was indeed a dream come true to visit in 1994 and see the smiling faces of 250 children, able to reeive a good education. I have heard that the number of children has doubled - this was rather old information, but I hope it is true.

>>Those of you who where in Denver in the early '70s, who did the local church experiment with Warren Methodist Church, Montiview Epicsopal and Montview Methodist Church should know that the Warren Village living facilities (for women with children) is going strong - in fact, Mark Welch's company that works with housing for the poor is involved in the renovation of all the buildings (after their 40 years of care).

>>The man who was director of Warren Village eventually left and started the Denver United Ministries - which provides a resource for the poor called DENUM. They offer food, bus tokens, GED training, clothes and many other resources.
