Don't know if you heard, but renowned guitarist Les Paul, whom you  
mentioned, died last week at the age, I think, of 92 or 94.   Don't know if David 
Zahrt took a lead from him on "voice  over" recording or the other way 
around--except for Paul it was "guitar  overs."  He was the first as far as I know 
who made recordings with  4 or 5 guitar parts in which he played all of 
them himself, recording  one over another until he had all the parts.  Another 
great artist  who will be missed.

In all the obituaries I heard, Les Paul was credited with inventing this  
recording method. What I remember more clearly are the vocals of his wife, 
Mary  Ford, singing several parts on "Dear One, The world is waiting for the 
sunrise."  That was in the fifties.
