Hi there, from the other side of the ocean. I am a frequent user and big
fan of the National Health Service in the UK.

One of the problems of health care is that normal market mechanisms don't
work, because patients have a lot less data than providers, sometimes 12
years of education less data. You can have private cleaning companies compete
with each other, and it helps. having cardiac surgions compete with each
other doesn't work so well.

It appears that lawyers and insurance companies are distorting the market
to serve their own needs, in a way which is detrimental to the overall
system and users with a limited budget, of which there must be 100 to 200
million in the US.

I was in Canada this summer, where the GP told me that the Canadian system
is fantastic. He certainly was cheap and effective for me.

Obama rocks for wanting to take something on, which Clinton didn't succeed
with. It might not work. the Medical system (insurance companies, lawyers,
Big Pharma) has such power, maybe more than the government. I wish all of
you campaigners well.

However will present the facts in the clearest manner will win this game.

Paul
