[Oe List ...] Lela Mosley

Lela WAS an iron woman. You are so right, David. I worked with Velma Brox to
do Fifth City accounting/bookkeeping. Velma and I did payroll too. Back
then, Fifth City was not yet incorporated as a non-profit. We had a lot of
work to do to get the finances straightened out so we could file for that
status. Lela was directly involved and she knew the importance of our work.
Lela and Velma and I worked closely straightening out the books and yet not
letting finance take over like it does in a lot of local churches. I would
always talk about what "we" needed to do instead of what "you" need to do
which Lela recognized right away and liked. When our daughter, Catherine,
was born, payroll checks were brought to me at home (West side) to sign.
Velma and I signed together. Lela was the other signer on the account. Velma
is Catherine's godmother. Lela was our leader and our friend and our
encourager in all that Velma and I did. I visited Lela with Catherine in the
90s. It was wonderful to see her again. I shall truly miss this gracious and
beautiful woman, this towering figure, and this friend. I am so glad for
this list that keeps us connected. Ann Shafer
