David,
Agave Nectar is a natural sweetner without an aftertaste like Stevia, it has a low glycemic index so it can be used by diabetics.
We use it in almost everything.

At last: the recipe!
Baked Oatmeal (best on frigid mornings, before going out into a cold, cruel world)
3C cooking oatmeal
1C brown sugar
2t baking powder
1t cinnamon
1t salt
1C milk
1/2C margarine, melted
2 eggs, beaten
add coconut, apples, raisins, pecans, etc to taste
mix, pour into greased baking pan, cook at 350°F for 40–45 minutes
GIVES FAITHFUL PEOPLE the power to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and set out for the day's journey on a new route.
____
I'm experimenting with reducing the amount of brown sugar and adding a bit of Splenda or Stevia instead.
(The Splenda bag suggests adding a teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2C powdered milk if you use Splenda. The jury is out on results; not enough data yet.)
____
Cheers to all oatmeal lovers.
David
[Typed the day I wept many tears of joy and wonder at the Inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama.]
