Dear Joe, Joanne, John and Bill and Family,
Wesley and I celebrate with you dear Anne's completed life, and the
strength and courage she brought to so many of us.
We met together for RS-1 pedagogy on Saturdays in the basement under
the old Great Hall/gymnasium on the West Side. I don't remember who
taught the class or who else was in it, but I remember Anne for her
quiet, discerning way and her shyness about standing before the group
back in those days. Sometimes Anne missed class because she said she
needed to work on finances, but some of us were sure she was secretly
glad not to be there, as we wished we didn't have to be there.
Learning to stand and speak in front of a group when you'd never done
that before and then be criticized for it when you sat down was worse
than hard for some of us. So when she did stand or speak from the
side of the table, we knew that much thought and effort went into it,
and she was heard. She spoke as she lived, with great wisdom and
compassion.
Our hearts go out to you as you celebrate and mourn and share in the
wonder of this amazing wife, mom, grandma and spirit woman of our time.
Grace, peace, love and hugs to you,
Sharry and Wesley

Dear Colleagues:
Dear, dear, Anne, passed away last Monday afternoon, January 19th
at in the Nursing section at our residence in the Edgemere Retirement
Home in Dallas, Texas. The cause was complications due to advanced
Parkinson's Disease. She was surrounded and supported with love by
our family throughout her last hours. A funeral service will be held
at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas this Saturday,
January 24th, 2009, at 1 PM.
As some of you know Anne had been declining in health for some
years now due to Parkinson's Disease. It has been a long and
courageous battle for her particularly these last few months, and it
is with sadness and joy that I send this to you. We mourn her body's
death for we were closely interwoven with its spirit's activity. We
are joyful for her life lived well and full -- and for all the gifts
and blessings she brought to me, our family, friends and colleagues
in so many ways -- words cannot express. And we are engulfed with
peace knowing that her release into the light of Being is carrying
her divine life on its eternal path.
Please know that Anne felt close to so many of you, and that our
work and service together around the globe meant the gift of her life.
Grace & Peace in 1Love,
Joe Slicker
