[Oe List ...] layoffs hitting our community

Hello everyone,

I don't know if this is an appropriate posting for this list or not ... but
I'm going to take my chances.  For two days we've all heard of the tens of
thousands of layoffs that have happened across the country.  This evening I
got a message from one of our own who lost her job today.  I don't know how
many of you remember Leslie Forbes--she is a 2nd Generation peer of mine.
She is in the Austin, TX area and is a junior level java programmer.  If
anyone out there is in the Austin area and/or has any ideas at all that
might be helpful with her job search, please email me off-list at

facilitate a connection.
