This is wonderful news---the most exciting news I have heard in a long time. The future is open. The past is approved.

Subject: Re: New Associate Executive Director
Hello All,
As most of you know, ICA-USA has been in the midst of a restructuring process. This is to inform you that a new position has been created, Associate Executive Director, to replace and expand upon an eliminated position, Director of National Programs.
The new Associate Executive Director will directly support and assist me as the entire staff works to fulfill ICA-USA’s mission and strategic directions. In particular, the Associate Executive Director will continue the development of ICA’s program portfolio and the operational systems to effectively manage and deliver these programs; develop and implement an internal plan for staff development, training, and performance management; and provide much needed institutional memory for staff of past ICA work and experiences.
I am pleased to announce that Terry Bergdall has agreed to serve as the Associate Executive Director, on an interim basis through the end of 2009, and will begin work immediately. We are excited by the extensive experience that he brings to our team. In addition to several years as senior manager for ICA offices in North America, Asia, and Africa, he has extensive experience working with other international non-profit organizations. For three years he was employed as the regional program coordinator for the Swedish Cooperative Center in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. He earned a PhD in International Development at the University of Wales, did MPhil graduate studies in Social Policy and Administration at the University of Nottingham, and completed his BA at Oklahoma City University with a major in Philosophy-Religion.
Please join me in welcoming Dr Bergdall to the staff of ICA-USA.
Regards,
Nino Tillman, MBA
Executive Director
