Individuals and communities are much more creative and capable of finding
solutions than the massive and unwieldy machine that the federal government
is.
And I wonder if the crux of the matter lies in the failure of individuals
and communities to do so. The NHS in the UK is massive and is being managed.
The word 'unwieldy' gives me difficulties, because obviously there are
huge management problems with the NHS. As in any large organisation, or small
family for that matter.
Does one choose to develop some skill at managing these problems? Or does a
society give up on the notion that excellent health care should be
available to all?
