Hello again everyone.
Jon Elizondo here to elaborate on a couple points.
In sharing his story, David did not ask for help. This is true from my perspective. When I heard David's story, it gave me an idea and I chose to share it. My idea, regardless of whether it is useful or not for David's situation, comes from my life experience And also from my time as a child in the Order.
I already explained that I'm a member of a dance community that knows how to assist each other in a variety of structural ways.
In addition, while many of you were working in 5th city, there were some principles in play...
I remember it something like this...
* we must work with all the people, all the issues, all the time. and Symbol is Key.
The long term structural piece is happening, and will happen (no matter how long it takes). And for me, it is a "both/and plus more" situation.
The small structures (like my idea) are as important as the large ones. In fact, some writers state that the large structural shifts will emerge from the small structural examples.
My idea is simply an idea of small structural assistance.
Is it a good idea? I don't know. I trust David and everyone else to figure that one out. I simply and powerfully know that it is an idea that might make a difference. And I am willing to do something Now.
We absolutely need everyone's participation in the long run, including the government's. And we are the government. We are the ones we've been waiting for. Letters are being written. Town meetings are attended. People are speaking their minds, voicing their stories. I am totally in awe of all that is coming forward! Wow. The consensus can emerge from this national/global/personal dialog. And I have no idea how long it will take.
In the meantime, we all wake up with the power of choice in each moment. Living humans on this amazing planet.
Walk in Beauty,
Jon
**************************************
Long-term solutions to this problem, in the long-term, have to be STRUCTURAL. That's what I learnt 35 years ago at the Academy and I see no reason for this notion to change.
It's great that people volunteer "community support" solutions - but it doesn't solve the problem we are discussing.
Susan's eagerness to participate in the particular volunteer scheme Jon has proposed reflects her underlying ideological approach - which appears to be contrary that all I have seen as good in my life since I joined the Movement.
(David wasn't asking for help: he was just illustrating, in stark terms, the problem.)
We need structural solutions. And that includes the participation of the government.
