MEETING THE CHALLENGE OF CREATING AN ECOLOGICAL CIVILIZATION

 

Arran Gare of Swinburne University in Australia writes this insightful essay
on how civilizations develop and decline and the challenges that must be met
to move into an ecological civilization. Among other sources, Gare discusses
Giambattista Vico's theory of history. Thomas Berry wrote his Ph.D.
dissertation on Vico.
