I have figured out a way to change Suzanne's account without 
disabling it that should eliminate the spam. Meanwhile I am trying to 
reach Suzanne.

As John Montgomery wrote, the same thing  happened to him recently, 
and in his case, just changing his email password cleared up the 
problem.

If anyone wants to discuss this further, please email me off the 
list, just to spare all the list members of more off topic traffic. 
Probably should cc David Dunn as well.

I am amazed that this email list works as well as it does. Email is 
very old technology. The day will come when we have to abandon it for 
better alternatives, but that day hasn't quite come yet. I can set up 
web based forum software at wedgeblade.net. I am not in a hurry to do 
it though, it requires a whole different way of interacting than 
email, which, for better or worse, our group is used to.
