Dear Ann and John,

Joe and I extend heartfelt sympathy and many prayers your way on learning
of Ann's Dad's passing.

What a great set of parents you were blessed with, Ann -- I remember
meeting them in Chicago when they visited Kemper.  I thought, "How lucky
is Ann to have parents who affirm what she and John have decided to do
with their lives."   Although my parents were also staunch UMCers (I'm
assuming yours were, or they were faithful church-people), mine could
never accept "what I had done to them and their reputation by........"

Ann, I trust your Dad's memorial service will be a glorious celebration. 
Please know that whenever it is held, my heart will be "giving deep
thanks" for such a parental role model as I experienced him (and your
Mom) being when I met them.  You have been, indeed, blessed.

Dear Colleagues, 

Ann Epps' father has passed away while she was at the Asian IAF in Korea
this past week. Larry and I send our sincere condolences to her and the
entire family and friends who celebrate his life during this special time
of transition. Though he had been ill, I am sure it was a shock. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
