BlankWOW! Thank you, Rod Rippel!
The God Lecture. Of course!
The reflections on "The Spirit of the 10's" has really been interesting. Is anybody gathering all of them together? I'm disappointed that I didn't start when the conversation first begun. At the moment I've not been inspired to offer my own reflection; e.g., I'm too numb doing all that I'm doing to add another category. I suppose this is why I've found all this so meaningful.
Regarding the God Lecture. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the questions raised in this lecture may be a sign of the spirit struggle for the times. I see people struggle to define their human experience in light of the activity of God; or, they are unable to identify their human experience as an activity of God.The most interesting category is naming their "Escape." Doesn't this go back to the principle of RS-I that we name our experience of reality and then point to the definition, or visa-versa.
What do you all think?
Bill

One insight captured in the God Lecture is that every period is experienced as a tension between a dying and emerging underlying spirit. The passing situation and experience is in conjunction with the new possibility coming into being.
Taking your categories/projections applied to the present might look something like this for the 00's
00's 10's
Terrorist threat, Ext. Bewildering Complex'ty
Strux'l collapse, Sitn. & Wonderment
Eco/Pol/Cul
Failed security & Int. Smother'g, inane
Meaning Xsis connectedness vs.
pure potential
Who do I trust? Exist. ? How to structure
e.g. Enron, AIG, the new Poss?
Maddorf, et. al
Flee to Certainty, i.e., Escape Indecision-paralysis
to belligerant defensive Retreat into Virtual
Fundamentalism (Rel, Reality models
Pol, etc.)
Thanks for bringing up this topic.
