[Oe List ...] Salmon: The truth be known

Colleagues--
    I just sent you two emails regarding fasting and running. At the bottom of each I noted that the Salmon Family was in the Order for eleven years. We joined in 1972 and left in 1986. Obviously, this is 14 years. However, during this time frame, a couple of times we asked for special assignments back to the Local Parish in order to care for family issues with our son, Wesley. This happened twice for which we are forever grateful since Wesley died in 1983 at the age of 20 with leukemia after proving himself a Friday Night Football Hero, and a Freshman college student who had a dream of becoming an olympic high hurdler. 
    The lesson we learned is that you can take the family out of the Order, but you can never take the Order out of the Family. Our daughters, Jana and Julie, look back on their experiences with gratitude.
