Dear Joan, Leah and other "Wild Women of the West," (I think you gals
must have been the inspiration of the now ubiquitous www......)

Thank you so very much for sharing your personal experiences of Stan's
Memorial Service.  I just dropped a note to Roxanna and Gordon this
morning saying that I hoped that someone (hint, hint) -- insidiously
meaning one of them -- would offer written reflections for those of us
who were there in Spirit, but were not able to directly participate in
what must have been a deeply profound celebration.  Ben arrived home late
Sunday, "sleepless from Seattle" but ready to go on call for the next
week at the hospital, and gave us a wonderful overview of what Leah's
masterful description filled out in technicolor.

I think our sharing of such milestone events will be increasingly
important in the future, both to our Order in Diaspora, and to us as
individuals who each, and at every moment, acknowledge the reality of
utter contingency, and yet affirm that such final limits are part of the
All that is Good.

Please know that your willingness to share from one coast to many others
across the globe is deeply appreciated, and that other voices on these
and other rites of passage are more than welcome.
