Dear Ajay

We were among the first residents at 13 Sankli Street in 1970-1971 when it
was the Bombay Urban Ashram and over the years enjoyed many visits back
where we came to know Monu and his family as great leaders in the work of
the ICA in India. It was always the case that when a new challenge arose,
Monu was ready to do whatever was necessary to meet that challenge. We
remember especially in the early and mid 1980's his work with us to
accomplish the objectives of the International Exposition of Rural
Development (IERD) in India. His demeanor was always the same "All is
possible" and he pursued life as a role model for that passion.

Hi All,

I will get all of the pictures that are available with me and have then
scanned and sent to all within a few days.

It makes me and my family glad to know that all of you held the highest
regards for my father.

Regards,

Ajay.

Jaime,

May I take the liberty of correcting you.. I am Monu's friend who informed
Jack Gilles, a long-time associate, about Monu's journey into the ether.
Though never formally a part of ICA, I became fully familiar of your
philosophy, good work and missionary work through Monu, Jack and Judy, Dick
and Gail, Kevin Balm, Shankar, Vinod, Hiraman, Bhimrao and a whole lot of
other friends.

Besides his legacy of love and learning, Monu left behind his wife Lakshmi,
two sons: Vijay and Ajay (who are both in Bombay), and a daughter, Aartee,
who lives and works in Bahrain.

I have marked a copy of this mail to both Ajay and Aartee so that they are
aware of your desire, and can send you the photographs directly, in case
they have any.

Regards and peace,

Alok Shukla

alok,

you think you can post one or two of your dad's photos? one in the late 70s
will be fine. other times will be you choice to share. your dad had a wide
network of colleagues around the world who solemnly remember and profoundly
celebrate the completion of his life.
