I know there are several colleagues in the greater San Francisco Bay 
Area.  This is the message our UMC pastor posted on the church's 
Facebook page:

Bio: John Shelby Spong is... the retired bishop of the Episcopal 
Diocese of Newark and author of Eternal Life: a New Vision Beyond 
Religion, Beyond Theism, Beyond Heaven and Hell, among numerous other 
books.

I think several of us will be carpooling from Aptos to hear him. I'd 
be interested in knowing if anyone else plans to be there.
