Hi all, I have had so much fun reading all the contributions, so I'll make
mine.
In the summer of 1965 or l966 we were invited to do a kind of expanded PLC for a
summer pastors conference of the Montana Annual Conference of The Methodist
Church. A team of 7 went (Joe and Lyn Mathews, Joe and Ann Slicker, Charles and
Doris Hahn, and John Slicker. We rode the train (I think The Empire Builder of
The Northern Pacific Line). I think Jim Bell who was a pastor in the Montana
Conference at that time persuaded the Conference to invite us.
We discovered that the song everyone wanted to sing was "Brother Vann's Song" or
"Harvest Time". Brother Vann's name was attached to it because he was the one
who introduced it to the Conference decades before. As I remember, the song was
originally written in the 19th Century by someone in Chicago. People insisted
on singing this song at almost every session we had. Joe and the rest of us
fell in love with it and brought it back to the Order. The Order fell in love
with it. It appears that the words are now in everyone's email file so I'll not
duplicate them, but I cannot find a copy of the music anywhere in all my Order
"stuff". I think most of us can reconstruct the music if we hum it a while.
The person I think most likely to have the music is Jim Bell. I just spoke with
him on the phone, and he says he thinks he has it somewhere in his "stuff". He
is going to try to find it and send it to me. He wants to send it snail mail,
so it will be a while before I receive it, if at all. So, I'll close with "The
Lord who has watched while my weary toil lasted, will give me a harvest for what
I have done." And you too.
Grace and Peace,
Charles

Hello everyone. Ken is looking for words and music to an old song we sang once
upon a time. The verse begins "The Seed I have scattered" and the chorus is
"Over and Over and Deeper and Deeper". We can't seem to locate this in any
resource we have available. Any suggestions?
