[Oe List ...] Salmon: The new Religious Mode Charts and the 144s

This thinking of Bill and Herman (and Jack and Marilyn and . . . ) has been behind the interviews Judy and I have been doing as well.

Some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity. Gilda Radner

Subject: Re: [Oe List ...] Salmon: The new Religious Mode Charts and the 144s

It is very different from pieces of
paper getting put into the archival file folders. What is happening here is the
"Living Archives" at work trying to knock off some of the rust to see just what
it is we know, or knew. As we present it here, informally, it reveals so
much in that a part of our lives we have forgotten what it was
and at the same time we have absorbed it to the point beyond words, charts,
lectures, etc.

Now is the time this "Living Legacy"
awakens on its corporate death bed (I mean we are literally becoming ancient and
dying) and allow that legacy to create a whole new understanding of THE
ECUMENICAL INSTITUTE. You know, not the Christian one, but the one
grounding the other world in the midst of this world, and yes, its traditions.

We have never before been prepared to
do such a thing, but now it can be, and will be. The future of the planet
depends upon this and there is not a single person here that does not have major
contributions to give to it, regardless of how un-refined or refined our memory
of our past may be.

Think of it, here we are thinking we
are at the end of our time, when life and history is saying we have worked 50
years for this moment and we are the people to do it. Herman is right, but it is
not our past we need to recover but our future.
