[Oe List ...] The Therenees of it All

Might add that the transition in Evanston had been occasioned by the decision of the first director of the EI, Walter Leibrecht to leave that flegling work and attend Vatican II as an observer.

Charity depends on the vicissitudes of whim and personal wealth;
justice depends on commitment instead of circumstance.
Faith-based charity provides crumbs from the table;
faith-based justice offers a place at the table.

Yes, 1962. Jim went with a carload from Norman, OK, in January 1962, the
last course they taught before the move to Evanston. I went in May 1962 with
the spouses who took care of the kids during the 1st trip. May was the 1st
course taught by those who stayed behind. My instructors included Bob
Bryant, Bill Smith, and James Wagner.

Hi Marge and all,
I saw Russell Wheelock yesterday morning as we were leaving Chicago. He
said that I helped teach him RS-1 in Chicago in 1964. Also, I have no
uncertainty about the date of the group leaving Austin. It was 1962.

I believe that 1960 was the year that Joe came to Chicago to be the
Ecumenical Institute and thus was no longer in Austin when the article
was posted. Today Russell Wheelock, who is here from Kansas City
working on the archives, told me that he went from Iowa to the Faith
and Life community in Austin and did RS-1 when Mathews was no longer
there. I didn't ask if he remembered the names of his teachers. He
said several other students were with him on that trip. to Austin. The
archives may reveal some information about dates. We have copies of
many study papers from the CF&LC sent to me by Wes Selliger's widow.
He was a F&LC person who was an Episcopal priest in Houston. Marge
