[Oe List ...] Physical Location for the Oikos Program at Oklahoma City University and some other news

Creative developments continue to occur at ICA-USA. We are actively engaged in creating a "service learning program" in collaboration with different institutions of higher learning. The message below is in direct response to event co-sponsored last July between ICA-USA and the Oikos Scholars program at Oklahoma City University. Next week, we will be hosting 20-25 students from Lindsey Wilson College from Kentucky at 4750 in chicago as a first practical step. James Addington is playing the primary coordinating role in this. We also have been pleased to have a remarkable volunteer join us, Lauren Markofsky, who is helping us on grant writing to some key foundations. All of this represents a significant new program initiative at ICA-USA and I thought it good to keep everyone on the listserv in the loop. Take care, Terry

The suite has two offices (with windows), a lounge/meeting room, and a storage/copier room. It is also a recently rennovated space with three computers. Dann May, Oikos Faculty member and Director of the Vivian Wimberly Center for Ethics and Servant Leadership, and Joe Meinhart, Oikos Faculty member, will be officing there. Having a physical location for Oikos faculty and Oikos Scholars will be a great asset to this growing program. January 2011 will be the time when we will be fully moved in to the new space, and we will have some king of gathering to mark the occasion at that time.

> The next step that we are working on is developing a site for the Oikos Institute next to the OCU campus that will house an urban retreat center and be a location for work on the ICA Living Archives project. This will also be a space for those of us who will be pursuing work on a Global Interfaith Order committed to creating peace, eradicating poverty, and caring for the planet. This phase of our work together will require some resources and time, but I believe that we will be seeing some progress on this work in the near future.
