This is about having fun with the archives --
I found a wonderful article called Popping the Question - written by
Robert A.M. Crick, lecturer in English in the Education Faculty,
Middlesex Polytechnic.
About his expeirence with the "curriculum" of the institutes in the 1970s
and in particular about - the art form conversation - Now known as ORID
He talks about "one approach of the Institute of Cultural Affairs, an
international group of practising teachers who have been creating and
experimenting with practical models for classroom methods in a wide
range of schools and colleges." He talks about seating arrangement (a
hollow square with students on three sides and the teacher on the
fourth. This enables eye contact with every other person, and also
prevents the teacher from ducking out of his responsibility for
leading the conversation), structured conversation, decor, sequence of
questions, etc, etc.

This is just one treasure I've found in the archives.

Hope you are thinking about coming to Chicago and getting involved in
the archives in our Oct-Nov sojourn.

With respect, Marge Philbrook
