[Oe List ...] A Colleagues Health

Michael et al. - I find I have to lock my keypad if my phone is not in my
hand or lying on a flat surface somewhere (it's a BlackBerry). That has
saved me a lot from what my daughters called the high-tech booty call. (i.e.
my butt phones, texts, or emails them).

I think the "pointed" email below is the result of my smartphone coming
alive as it bounced around while I was riding my bike home last evening.

Maybe the phone is trying to tell me I should contribute more often! We'll
see what happens as I set out on my bike for work this morning.

Peace,
Michael (and Molly) Shaw

Dear Colleagues,

Some of you may remember Irwin and Martha Wason from Cleveland. They were
in the Cleveland House back in the late 60's. A few months ago Irwin, a
pediatrician, was diagnosed with cancer. He has been undergoing chemo and I
recently asked Martha how he was doing. Here is what she wrote back.

Jack,

I need to get out an "All the Ships at Sea" bulletin. Two weeks ago, the
surgeon pronounced Irwin well on the way to recovery. He didn't have to
finish his last two chemo treatments since the oncologist pronounced him
free of cancer.

However, he's still dealing with the unresolved issue of the urinary control
device that they had to remove at the end of July. He has had no bladder
control since then and must use Depends to take care of the "flow." The
urologist who did the surgery said that she didn't know if the device could
be replaced. They'd have to wait for at least three months before they
could decide. Soo - - - - we're waiting.

His appetite has returned, he's slowly gaining weight, but still weighs less
that 125 lbs. His energy and "verve for life" have returned, thank
goodness. We went dancing last Wed. night and had a WONDERFUL time.

Thanks for asking. We're almost back to normal.

Grace and Peace,

Martha
