Colleagues:
A friend heard of my interest in creating new songs for our time and recommended a book by Tex Sample--a retired seminary professor--who wrote the book, "White Soul: Country Music, the Church and Working Americans."
I just bought the book for $1.34 plus postage from Amazon used books.
I can recommend Tex Sample for his wit, charm and knowledge of society.
Recently, I've been listening to contemporary music with my students. It is possible to down load the lyrics; much angst and little hope, even from Sweet Jesus.
For those of you getting the inspiration to explore the possibilities I wish you the best. Perhaps, the best is to develop theological course work to help college age and young adults to get grounded and then they will be inspired to help you.
    Inner peas,
    Pastor Bill
