Thank you for sharing Mike! We lived with Brooke in the Houston House when she was in high school. Her blog is great. We loved reading it and seeing the photos. You deserve to be proud of her.

<!--CTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//E--><p><span id="role_document" style="font-family: Arial; color: #000000; font-size: x-small;"><div>I<span style="font-size: small;"> sat down at my computer to brag about my daughter, and found all the dialogue about funds, college, travel, etc., so it really segues into my intended email.</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">I thought those of you who remember (or currently know) our youngest daughter, Brooke, would be interested to know that she is on a two-week experience in India.  Brooke is a National Board Certified teacher of music at Peirce Elementary in the Chicago Public Schools - on Bryn Mawr Ave between Broadway and Clark.  She was also a 2008 winner of the Golden Apple Award for teaching.  She was surprised in her classroom by Mayor Richard Daley and Arne Duncan, CPS CEO at the time, with a basket of apples topped by a gold apple.  In addition to teaching, Brooke directs the choir at Edgewater Presbyterian Church.  (Choir members include Rosemary Albright, Lela Philbrook. and Pam Bergdall).</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">You will notice that Brooke wrote a grant for this trip.  (Makes former Development Centrum parents proud of this skill she puts to use frequently for her school)</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">Anyway, Brooke is keeping a blog of her trip, which anyone who is interested may access by this link:</span></div><div> </div><div><a href="http://brooketipthompson.blogspot.com/"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>http://brooketipthompson.blogspot.com/</strong></span></a></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">On the subject of College Fund, all three of our daughters received college funds from the Order while they were in college at Ohio Wesleyan University.  Since we were living the "poverty lifestyle", numerous other scholarships and grants and loans helped them all to graduate.  We are very grateful for that.</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">Doing the Directory has kept me up and in touch with so many of you, and this Dialogue has been so interesting, even though we don't participate in writing much.</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">About 6 weeks ago I was rummaging through a drawer and came across the guild symbol ring I got when Lyn Matthews Edwards returned from a trip to India in the 70's.  I put it on, and it still fits.  I've kept it on, and enjoy looking at it as a reminder of the past 43 years since that first RSI in Cleveland, taught by Bob Vance and Carlos Zervigon.  What an impact on our family that ring symbolizes!</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">Grace, Peace, and Love,</span></div><div> </div><div><span style="font-size: small;">Mike Tippett (and Judith, too)</span></div><div> </div><div> </div></span></p></html>
