You probably have all this info already, but here goes. The major newspapers in the state have not published very flattering articles on Perry, but I doubt that his supporters pay much attention.
Just today the Justice Dept. blew the AT&T - Mobile-T deal out of the water, which will have effect on their stock prices and force delays of AT&T plans. You may have noticed on the news last week that an AT&T official caught on camera whispering to Perry that they were going to fund him. A number of his big money folks and corporations are going wild raising funds for him. You may want to focus more on his contributors and their ups and downs than Perry because that's were the action is.
As the recent cuts in the State budget take effect, especially in education, much of the hoopla will have a short shrift.
Here are some urls that try to keep up with Perry.
Texas Observer: http://www.texasobserver.org/
Houston Chronicle: http://www.chron.com/ (look especially at their blogs)
Dallas Morning News: http://www.chron.com/ go to Perry watch
Austin American Statesman: http://www.statesman.com/ They usually have something everyday, just use their search engine if it's not front and center.
Austin Chronicle: http://www.austinchronicle.com/ Look for the "Perry Trap"
District judge Sparks just put Perry's latest effort to play to anti-abortion crowd on hold. It would require a woman to have a sonogram of the baby and have the physician describe it to her and then wait 24 hours before deciding to have the abortion. While the judge did not knock down the sonogram part he did on the bases of Free Speech knock down the order for the physician to describe the sonogram and for the woman to listen to it. Choice folks point out that the law would have had drastic effects on women needing the procedure immediately for health reasons and for poor women who would find it economically difficult to travel back and forth to the clinic and doctor's office, possibly 3 or 4 trips, plus miss work.
