from a note from Walt about her service and a beautiful website paying
tribute to her work in building community. With gratitude for our shared
journeys in Denver, Lynda and John Cock

  _____

We just had the nicest service at Cure D'Ars Catholic Church in Denver here
this morning late, and a reception this pm at another location nearby.
There were a great mix of ICA/OE folks there, family, Native American's who
had worked with Kim, and extended family. Many did not know one another. And
several of us have thought, and commented "Well here goes Kim again, getting
all us folks together who don't know each other". Here she is making history
again.
The Shanklands, Dunns, Ruth Reams, Welch's, Charlene Forbes and daughters
Keahi and Puinani, Shirley (Heckman) and Clarence Snelling were I think the
colleagues who were there.

There's a Fund being set up to continue the work of the consensus-based
community development. David Lester of the Council of Energy Resource
Tribes, whom Kim has worked with, and who is a deep friend of the Alire
Family, announced it at the reception and is helping connect tribes to this
opportunity to keep that work going. A very nice intro to the fund/bio of
Kim is on her website at "http://aliregroup.com". We're very excited about
that, and even Kim's family is excited about it too.

Thanks again for your and John's poetry. I appreciate the link to the blog.
Take Care, Walt Epley

We are so grateful for the colleagueship that we have known in the past and
which is still present across these miles. We are grateful for the work that
Kim has done in bringing change to communities. I went to John's blogsite at
www.rejourney.blogspot.com and typed in "Compassion" in the search space at
the top.
I came up with about 18 blogs that I spent browsing as part of my prayer
ritual for Kim. You might appreciate sharing some with her. It was her
compassion for others and making a difference that guided her work.

With care and prayers, Lynda and John Cock, who spent a year in Denver
around 1982.

Our prayers are with you and your family as you travel this painfilled path.
