Dear Tracy,

I really enjoyed your report. You do such a good job of describing the
myriad factors that lead to the high rates of HIV infections in Subsaharan
Africa. The factors are the same in all the locations Sandra and I wokied in
with ICA in Africa. I think that the recent identification that treatment
significantly decreased infectivity is huge and should allow some shift in
how we approach community based education and mobiliztion. In our peer
educator curriculum with ICA we have gradually evolved to showcase the
importance of getting tested, but now we will also need to emphasize how
treatment is not only about caring for yourself, but how it is a way to care
for the community and for the future as another avenue to break the
epidemic. I look forward to hearing more of your work and maybe to visit you
there one of these days,

God Bless,

Bob True
