Alan Gammel called the other night to recommend a film he had just seen.  It
is a documentary so not on the big screen, but is being shown in Asheville
and Charlotte, NC, May 6, at art theaters.  Check the link to see when it is
near you.  We haven't seen it yet and won't be able to get to either of
those venues.  I thought others of you might appreciate it as well.

There is another Christian film by the name I AM, so when you google you
have to specify" I AM, the Documentary."
 
 
Film maker Tom Shadyac, creator of Bruce Almighty, among other money makers,
sets out on a quest to seek answers to the above questions through
interviewing Desmond Tutu, Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky and others. Along the
way he's in a traumatizing bike accident and encounters his own mortality
which puts another perspective on his project.  He discovers that humans
appear to be hardwired for connection and compassion.  He learns that it is
not so much a matter of what we can DO to make the world better, but what we
can BE which calls for a transforming of being.  From there action naturally
will follow, he says.

journey that is I AM. With great wit, warmth, curiosity, and masterful
storytelling skills, he reveals what science now tells us is one of the
principal truths of the universe, a message that is as simple as it is

Looks interesting.  It is showing in Asheville and Charlotte May 6.
