Dear Bob and family,

We are remembering you as you gather on this poignant anniversary to celebrate Sandra's life and legacy.

Two quick memories: many years ago when we were in "Area New York", we visited Philadelphia--Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell--with Sandra and Lynn. Later in 1988 leading a presbytery mission education trip to the Southwest and having the opporunity to meet with Sandra on Hopi Mesa Two and to hear about her public health work there. We remember and celebrate her as a woman of deep passion, compassion and action.

I (Ellie) keep in my work folder a greeting she sent last year to the listserve and one that we shared together this morning:

A Happy and Blessed New Year to all!

Many facts about TWLI have been grounded for me in a new way this past year. No control, relationships are key, and perhaps most important is to dwell fully in the present moment. Whether it be painful, disappointing, surprising, funny, exhilarating I do not wish to miss any of it. Next moment cannot be anticipated or expected, only lived fully.

Let your light shine!

Still a profound message in this new year, in this Ephiphany season of light.

Grace and peace, blessings and love,

Carleton and Ellie Stock

Dear Colleagues,

Next Tuesday January 24, 2012, Mark. Lynn and I will gather with friends for a meal to mark the anniversary of Sandra’s death. We will borrow from the old House Church format.

I request and welcome any “Sandra stories” that you may wish to share to include in our celebratory meal.

It is difficult to comprehend that a year has passed. As I struggle through the wound of loss, I am daily reminded of deep gratitude for Sandra and the journey we shared. In particular she and I both carry an abiding gratitude to the Mystery for bringing us to this wonderful community that you all are – Present, Past, and Future.

Grace and Peace,
Bob True
