Dear Ones,
Alice Baumbach put this on my facebook page today:
"SHIFTING THE SUN

When your mother dies, say the Irish,
you lose your umbrella against bad weather.
May her sun be your light, say the Armenians.

When your mother dies, say the Welsh,
you sink a foot deeper into the earth.
May you inherit her light, say the Armenians.

When your mother dies, say the Canadians,
you run out of excuses.
May you inherit her sun, say the Armenians.

When your mother dies, Say the French,
you become your own mother.
May you stand up in her light, say the Armenians.

When your mother dies, say the Indians,
she comes back as the thunder.
May you inherit her light, say the Armenians.

When your mother dies, say the Russians,
she takes your childhood with her.
May you inherit her light, say the Armenians.

When your mother dies, say the English,
you join her club you vowed you wouldn’t.
May you inherit her sun, say the Armenians.

When your mother dies, say the Armenians,
Your sun shifts forever,
and you walk in her light.
